A child is Born in Bethlehem,
Glad tidings for Jerusalem!
And there He lies in manger poor,
Whose reign shall last forevermore.
Infant beaming bright,
Cheer all with Thy light,
Infant we adore
And kings from out the East appear,
With gold and frankincense and myrrh.
He lives like us in form and dress,
Without our taint of wickedness.
He comes our souls to purify
And bring us safe to bliss on high.
Therefore let us with one accord,
On this His birthday, praise the Lord.
Eternal laud and glory be,
O Jesus Virgin born, to Thee,
And praise to Holy Trinity,
Now and to all eternity.
